Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly opened their Montecito home to friends and loved ones fleeing the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Southern California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have offered refuge to those displaced by the fires, which erupted on Tuesday, January 7. The wildfires have already claimed at least 10 lives and forced over 100,000 Los Angeles residents to evacuate.

According to People, the couple, who live about 140 kilometers north of the affected area, have “opened their home to friends and loved ones forced to evacuate.”

In addition to providing shelter, Harry and Meghan are directing donations through their Archewell Foundation to support wildfire relief efforts. They are collaborating with local organizations to identify the most effective ways to assist the impacted communities.

The couple, who purchased their $14 million Montecito mansion in 2020, have been actively involved in charitable endeavors and community support.

This gesture follows their public statement, which urged residents to prioritize the safety of pets and vulnerable individuals during the ongoing crisis.
