Florida Cop Fired After Watching Porn and Rear-Ending Car Stopped for School Bus
A Florida deputy is out of a job after a shocking incident where his own body cam captured him rear-ending another car while distracted by porn on his phone.
The footage shows Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Tristan Macomber crashing his patrol car into a stopped vehicle, causing his airbag to deploy. Moments later, Macomber is seen retrieving his phone from the floor, tossing it onto the seat, and then checking on the other driver.
An internal investigation, conducted two weeks after the November crash, revealed Macomber initially claimed the accident was caused by his brakes locking up as the car ahead stopped for a school bus. However, evidence proved otherwise. Dash cam footage showed the deputy visibly distracted, holding a cell phone just seconds before the collision.
When questioned, Macomber initially claimed he was reviewing text messages in a group chat with other deputies. However, he later admitted to watching pornographic content on his personal phone at the time of the crash.
Macomber violated three department policies: lying about the incident, viewing prohibited material on an electronic device, and failing to wear a seatbelt.
