Danelo Cavalcante, a 34-year-old murderer serving a life sentence without parole for the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, managed to escape from a Pennsylvania jail just one week after his sentencing. Authorities launched a massive manhunt to locate him.

Regarding Danelo Cavalcante’s marital status, he is not currently married. However, he was in a relationship with Deborah Brandao, whom he brutally murdered in front of her children. Prior to this, he was suspected of killing a man who owed him money in his home country in 2017.

On the day of the murder, Cavalcante arrived at Brandao’s house, violently attacked her, and stabbed her 38 times in front of her two children, aged 7 and 4. He then fled the scene but was captured in Virginia hours later, as he attempted to escape to Mexico and possibly Brazil. The escape from jail in August 2023 led to widespread concern and a significant law enforcement effort to recapture him, utilizing tools such as dogs, drones, and helicopters in their search.
